Oef... I got a lot to catch up on!

So I took the nightbus from Auckland to Wellington and then the ferry to the lovely little Picton. Now there's not a lot to do in Picton, but the hostel (Sequoia Lodge) is absolutly wonderful!! If one of you ever goes to Picton it's the place to be! I only stayed there one night, but if I have the time I'll stay there a bit longer when I'm on my way back to Auckland.
We were supposed to be picked up by the Stray-bus at the ferry-terminal at 11.45 h... yes, supposed to... Me and 3 other guys actually missed the bus! Now it was not completly our fault. We were all looking for a bus with the big letters "STRAY" on but it was a white bus (instead of the normal orange bus) with "Ritchie's" written on it and of course nobody told us that they are from the same company and sometimes Stray uses Ritchie's buses. So this Dutch guy (of course) got on the phone with stray and got them that far that they payed for our ticket with another buscompany to Nelson where we caught up with the stray-bus :) all good, as they say here.
We got dropped off at Marahau where we stayed for two nights. I did a walk there in the Abel Tasman National Park (23 km!!) that took us about 7 hours, but it was a beautiful walk.

On friday we left and drove to Barrytown and on the way we made some beautiful stops ...

Barrytown is a town of ... nothing, absolutly nothing. There is a population of 40 and there were 40 persons on our bus, so we actually doubled the population of that little town when we were there! Now you're probably wondering what we were doing there. Well, there's a pub, so we went there to party basically. Not me though, I have partied enough in Sydney. That doesn't mean that others didn't party, like the guy in our dorm that ended up puking all over Kathryn's (Ireland) clothes at 4.30 in the morning! So that was Barrytown... a lovely experience.

Than we made our way up here, and here is actually Franz Jozef. On our way we stopped at this little museum in the middle of nowhere, where they kind of explain about how it comes there are so many dear-farms in NZ. They were pretty funny actually. There was also a big black pig!
I'm staying in Franz Jozef for 2 nights (1more night to go) and today I climbed the Franz Jozef Glacier :-)
I know, I said I was travelling so that I wouldn't have a winter this year and now I go and do winteractivities, but it was really great! I did a full day, which means I was up on the ice for about 8 hours. (I'm getting quiet sportive here in NZ, which is a good thing of cours). Didn't make to many pic's, but that's because I was enjoying it to much to have time to make photo's the whole time!

Then we were off to Makarora for one night... beautiful scenery again (the first scene of the second Lord of The Rings - movie was shot in the Makarora valley). Don't have any pics 'cause we weren't there for long enough. We arrived in the late afternoon and left the following morning.

After that it was Wanaka, and on the way we've seen some btf things :) (there is just nothing "not-beautiful" to see in NZ)

Now I'm staying in beautiful Wanaka for 3 nights, so I have some time to relax in this great place!

Although, it's not all just relaxing, I climbed Mount Iron this morning and this was the reason why I climbed it ...

So that's it for this time!
