Ok... promised I would let you know when I knew what I was up to.
I'm staying one more night in Auckland and then I'm taking the overnight coach to Wellington where I'll catch the ferry to Picton. I stay there for one night and then I'm starting the Stray bus tour until... I'm back in Auckland I guess. Anyway the tour takes me all around the South Island and then straight through the north Island back to Auckland.

be prepared for pic's!
see ya soon

Hello everyone!!

I know, it's been way too long since I've updated this site! There is a good reason though... There was nothing to write about!!! Now the problem is that I don't have a lot to say about New-Zealand yet, 'cause I've only arrived here yesterday late in the afternoon with no info what so ever on what to do.

So let's evaluate Sydney...

Sydney was ... hmmm ... indescribable (if that word actually exists in english?). It was very exiting , lively, fun, citylike, interesting... but I have had MORE THAN ENOUGH of Sydney. I was very happy to fly to Auckland although I must say that Sydney was an experience I wouldnt wanna have missed for the world. I think I learned a lot in that city. Just for starters there was the job! Me, melissa, who hates everything that has to do with commercial marketing and sales, did door-to-door sales! Not that I was any good at it, but I did it any way. And how could I not have learned from that?! I made a quick calculation and I estimated I talked to roughly 300 different persons in that job (whaauw da's veel gebabbel).
But I think most of all I'll remember the people I met, first of all at the hostel and later at the appartment and of course my crazy collegues at work!
Personal note : Thank you all for making Sydney worth staying at!!
And of course there were the parties! I must honestly say, I don't think I've ever been to the pub so often or drank so much ever before!

What else can I say about Sydney? I'll be back for sure and I'll just be a tourist this time, so I guess it will be different, or let's say, I hope it will be different!

Now, once I know what I'm up to here in NZ I'll let you know! And of course once I start travelling you will get to see the most beautiful pic's ;-)

Hello Everybody!

I wish you all a very happy New Year!! Ofcourse I have more experience than you gu.ys in 2007, because I've been in 2007 10 hours before you guys :) But I can promise you it is a really fun year! You guys have to mail me what you've done for New Years Eve!!

First of all... christmas... Kinda forgot about it! How did you all spent Chrissy? I've been out with Caroline and Tatiana and some of their housemates. Nothing to special, but I did get a complete make-over (as if I need it, but anyway). I dont have the pictures yet, so you will have to imagine it... Melissa in a red dress, with silver high heels and a silver handbag. My hair was completly straightened with the straightner and I wore very red lipstick!!! We had fun so that's what counts in the end right! On Christmasday I went back to their house to have Sunday-tea. We had a big buffet with plenty of food: from pizza to the good old TimTams :))))) Ofcourse we all ate to much, but at least this time we didnt drink to much (half the people at the table were still hungover from Christmaseve).

New Year
We left our appartment at 14.30h, because we wanted a good spot to watch the fireworks... this is how we (Franz, Anne, me) looked:

We looked hot!!! :))
We went to the Botanical Gardens to have our picnic and wait for the fireworks. So we ate for about 5 hours and then there were the first fireworks (for the kids) at 9pm. After that we went close to the water to watch the big fireworks at midnight. We had really good spots and could see everything...New_years_eve_07_027.jpg
the fireworks were really awesome!! They were really big because it was the 75th birthday of the fireworks, so it was even bigger than usual!

hy everyone!!

It has been some time, I know. I haven't had a lot of time since I'm working here... I started last week thursday, and you'll never believe what I'm doing!! I'm going from door to door! But I'm doing it for a good cause... I'm talking to everyone about Save The Children and I'm signing them up for monthly donations. So in fact I get paid to talk a whole day :) Which, of course isn't bad for my English!!! And I do meet very different people every day. I'm working with a team that comes from all over the world and I have a lot of fun with them! But I do have a bit crazy hours, because we have to talk to people when they're not working. A typical day for me looks like this: I get up between 8 and 9 and get ready to go to the office in Bondi Junction (15 min by train, although we would call it 'metro'). I arrive and get some training, go over things that didn't work so good etc. Around 12.30 there is a 'meeting' ran by one of both of our managers (both which are 2 years younger than myself may I add). Usually it consists of having fun. Between 1 and 2 (pm or 13 en 14u) we take the bus to the area where we have to go from door to door, from 2 to 8 pm we work the area and then we take the bus back to the office and fill in the paperwork. We're usually finished around 9.30 pm. Then we go home ... or to the pub ;)

So as you can imagine I'm not home a lot, especially since I also work on Saturdays (9.30 am to 5 pm). And on Sundays, not a lot is open, but anyway... The work is a lot of fun and the money isn't bad at all!

So now you all know what I have been up to the last 2 weeks. Don't you guys forget to give me some news to, because I've hardly heard of anyone back home! Let me know how you are and what you've been up to!

dikke kussen aan iedereen en tot de volgende zitting!
Ikke ;)))))
