hello everyone!

finally I got to upload my pic's and you can finally meet Caroline and Tatiana and all the others.
But let us first bring you up-to-date. Two days ago I've moved into my appartment :-))))) It's in the middle of the city-centre so if I want to go do some grocery-shopping I take the elevator down, turn 'round the corner and down the escalator and I find a supermarket that's open 24/7!! (which is good seeing i always forget things) If I cross the street I'm in one of the hottest places to be in Sydney (The Three Wise Monkeys), I go down the street there's another bar called The Star Bar and if I want to go out to eat... well, I can choose the way I go because there are plenty of restaurants everywhere! But enough talking... here come the pic's:

Sydney in de regen !!!

rain 11 °C
View Sydney & New Zealand on melissaf's travel map.

Het regent in Australie... man man man, wie had dat ooit gedacht???

Dus keuze is snel gemaakt.

all seasons in one day 27 °C

Hy everyone!!

It has been some while before I found the time to make a new entry for my blog, because the first days in Sydney have been kind of hectic!
But you're gonna read all about it...

9/11/2006
So, I arrived on thursday-evening (local time) and James picked me up from the airport. We went to the hostel to pick up two other girls he had picked up from the airport during the day. And then we got an 'evening-tour' of Sydney. Must have been really nice I guess, but honestly I only remember bits and pieces because I was so tired from the long flight. Anyway, got back to the hostel and without lingering around for to long I called home to let them know I had arrived in one piece, took one of the greatest showers I've ever had and sleepwalked into my bed.

10/11/2006
I met Caroline (from the U.K.) and Tatiana (from Italy), the two girls I had the tour with the day before, for breakfast and we all went to the Travellers Contact Point (TCP) on George Str to get our papers from the bank, our Australian sim-card, etc. We also immediatly looked at the job-offers and Taty en Caro also looked for a shared appartment. Now, I must say, I really admire the organisation those two girls have! That very same day they called different people for jobs and appartments! And like you know me... I just looked at the jobs and thought "oh, I'll call later". But you know what, I'm on holiday, so why should I have to rush I wonder!!
On our way back to the hostel we stopped at Woolsworth to get some things like food and some other stuff. Back in the hostel Caro and I went to the guest-kitchen to eat and afterwards we went down to the bar and danced the evening away :-) We really had a lot of fun.

11/11/2006
Got up quite early, because still a bit jett-lagged. Taty and Caro went to look for appartments and I wandered around Pitt Str and ended up in Hyde park in the shadow of a big tree dozing off. Meanwhile Taty and Caro found an appartment (!!!). In the evening I again cooked some food (although this time fresh vegetables and nog pasta from a 'paksken'!) and we went to the bar (again). This time it was Mexican night at the bar... really funny - and for most people also a really drunken evening since the drink of the evening was tequila! For me no tequila of course!! Anyway had a great evening again!

12/11/2006
Aahh, lazy sunday! Got up quit late (9 am!!) took my breakfast "op't gemakske" and slowly found my way to the Botanical Gardens. On my way I stopped at every shoe-store (yeah, they're open on a sunday!) because I should need some shoes to go to job-interviews since I only got my worn down sneakers, my slippers (or flip-flops) and my hiking-boots... not really "job-interview-shoes" if you know what I mean. Anyway behind the botanical gardens in the Opera House, so I went to take a look over there... quit impressive, but I think it must be beautiful in the evening. For lunch went back to the hostel and after lunch I met Taty and we went for a coffee and a chat (a real girl-chat of 3 hours!) and afterwards we had dinner in the bistro of the youth-hostel around the corner.

13/11/2006
Today... got up, took breakfast and went on the internet... and I'm still on the internet and it's already 1.20pm!!
And I've still gotta look for cars, jobs and appartments!!! Anyway later on I'm gonna head to King's Cross to go and take a look at the cars over there. And in the evening I'm meeting up with Caro and Taty again and we're probably gonna take a walk (and a drink) along Darling Harbour. That's my plan for today.

Well now you're all up to speed and I'll let you know something pretty soon!
(pics are for another time, don't got the time to upload them all now!!)

cya :-)
